Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

6300 block of Field Flower Trail, cell phone from residence

14100 block of Lotus Lane, package from residence

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY, 2900 block of Furman Lane, 4/16/13, 12:25 a.m. A 35-year-old man was walking home. He was approached by two young men who demanded his wallet. They fled with his wallet and cell phone. The victim received minor injuries. The suspects were described as black males in their late teens to early 20s. One was wearing a black jacket.

WARRANT SERVICE, 8100 block of Lakepark Drive, 4/16/13, 9:45 a.m. Officer responded for an alarm. He learned the individual who tripped the alarm was wanted for an unrelated event. He fled the home.  John Redmon, 20, of Alexandria, was located and charged with petit larceny, petit larceny 3rd conviction, destruction of property, and violation of a court order.

BURGLARY, 4200 block of Old Mill Road, 4/16/13, 6:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a side door.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 5400 block of Safe Harbor Court, 4/16/13, 12:10 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a laptop computer. There were no signs of forced entry.

9500 block of Jomar Drive, air compressor from residence

6100 block of Rolling Road, license plate from vehicle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

GRAFFITI, 5200 block of Tractor Lane, 4/16/13, 11:45 a.m. A resident reported letters painted on a fence. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

LARCENIES:

10200 block of Bushman Drive, lamp from residence

12000 block of Government Center, electronic device from business

5400 block of Sasher Lane, two chain saws from vehicle

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 7600 block of Willow Lane, 4/16/13, 4:45 p.m. A 58-year-old was walking when she crossed paths with a man walking a dog on a leash. The dog bit her on the thigh, and was not seriously injured. The dog was routinely quarantined.
