Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

GRAFFITI, 8300 block of Stonewall Drive, 4/17/13, 9 p.m. A resident reported someone spray painted the top of his garbage cans. They were made aware to remove the graffiti.

8200 block of Lewinsville Road, wallet from business

MASON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

6300 block of Little River Turnpike, cell phone from business

7200 block of Maple Place, purse from business

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

WARRANT SERVICE, Elden Street/Van Buren Street, 4/17/13, 2:25 p.m. An on-duty officer in plain clothes saw a wanted person. Several officers, the helicopter, and a K-9 team assisted in locating the individual. Terrance Malloy, 20, of Washington, DC, was charged with burglary and grand larceny for an unrelated event. He was charged with unlawful entry of a home during his attempt to evade officers in this case.

1800 block of Fountain Drive, wallet from business

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6800 block of Pacific Lane, 4/17/13, 3:10 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and stole jewelry and personal items. Entry was gained through an unsecured window.

LARCENIES:

5900 block of Brookview Drive, GPS from vehicle

3700 block of Franconia Road, electronic device from residence

6100 block of Franconia Road, wallet and cell phone from residence

6900 block of Hechinger Drive, three to four pallets of cardboard boxes from vehicle

7500 block of Woodside Lane, purse from business

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 4700 block of Commons Drive, 4/17/13, 3 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the apartment and stole cash. Method of entry was undetermined.

LARCENIES:

7500 block of Little River Turnpike, purse from business

7500 block of Reservation Drive, cell phone and wallet from vehicle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

STOLEN VEHICLES:

13200 block of Goose Pond Lane, Honda CBR 600RR motorcycle

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 1600 block of Reston Parkway, 4/17/13, 8 a.m. The mother of a 4-year-old girl reported a dog on a leash bit her daughter. The child approached the dog, attempted to kiss it and was bitten. The child was treated for her injuries. Officers are searching for the white Toy Poodle mix.

ANIMAL BITE, Wolftrap Road/Woodford Road, 4/17/13, 4:55 p.m. A 69-year-old was walking and passed by a dog on a leash. The dog allegedly bit her, causing minor injury. Gina Stracuzzi, 55, of Vienna, was charged with no dog license. The Wheaten Terrier mix was routinely quarantined.
