Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

ALL HANDS, 4/20/13. ALL officers from the Sully District Station worked on Saturday night focusing on impaired and unsafe drivers. Three hundred eighteen citizen contacts were made. One hundred forty six warnings were issued with 164 citations. There were also six DWI charges.

News Release: Sexual Assault/Burglary in Centreville Area

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 5400 block of Goolsby Way, 4/21/13, 5:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered his home but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through the front door.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 2900 block of East Lee Avenue, 4/20/13, 9:30 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a camera. Forced entry was made through a window.

BURGLARY, 4400 block of Groombridge Way, 4/21/13, 12:30 a.m. A resident reported he awoke to a sound outside his window. He observed a young man put his hand through the open window and take a wallet off a table. The suspect fled and dropped the wallet.

BURGLARY, 1400 block of Belle Haven Road, 4/12/13, 10:15 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a roof skylight.

6200 block of North Kings Highway, liquor from business

6200 block of North Kings Highway, two pints of liquor from business

6100 block of The Parkway, two pearl necklaces, pearl bracelet from residence

STOLEN VEHICLES:

6200 block of North Kings Highway, 2000 Ford van

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8300 block of Alvord Street, 4/19/13, 2:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a passport. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

BOMB THREAT, 2900 block of District Avenue, 4/21/13, 9:10 p.m. Officers were called for a shoplifting involving two possible suspects. Alyson Le, 29, of Herndon, was detained by security and charged by police officers with grand larceny. The other individual allegedly made it outside and called a bomb threat into the business. Keron Lezama, 30, of Herndon, was charged with making a bomb threat.

8000 block of Tysons Corner Center, wallet from business

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, 4/20/13, 1:20 a.m. An officer observed an individual being escorted out of a restaurant by security. He went to assist and identified himself as a police officer. The man allegedly attempted to hit the officer. Murtadha Joumaah, 28, of Falls Church, was charged with drunk in public, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice, and assault on a police officer.

5500 block of Seminary Road, electronic device from residence

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 2600 block of Viking Drive, 4/21/13, 1:10 a.m. A 16-year-old reported he was walking on a path when five or six individuals attacked him. He was able to flee with minor injuries. There is no suspect information.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, 6400 block of Edsall Road, 4/21/13, 3:55 a.m. Officers were called for a fight in the area. When they approached several individuals ran into an apartment. As the officers investigated, Salvador Hernandez, 21, of Alexandria, allegedly attempted to prevent the officer from continuing their investigation. He was charged with obstruction of justice.

7100 block of Silver Lake, dog from residence

5600 block of Vine Street, rims and tires from vehicle

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

CRASH, Pickett Road/Old Creek Drive, 4/19/13, 6:05 p.m. A 46-year-old was allegedly cut-off by another driver causing the victim to strike a parked vehicle. The driver fled the scene. Shawnna Martinez, 29, of Fairfax, was located and charged with hit and run and DWI. No one was seriously injured.

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK, Clifton Road/Yates Ford Road, 4/19/13, 6:20 p.m. A 17-year-old girl was walking in the roadway and was struck by 2013 Toyota Sienna. She was transported with non life-threatening injuries.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

2900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 24 pack of beer from business

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 11000 block of Saffold Way, 4/20/13, 4:15 p.m. A 9-month-old Husky got away from its owner. The victim, 41, assisted in capturing the dog and was bitten. He received minor injuries. The owner, Ellis Willmore, 48, of Reston, was charged with no dog license. The dog was routinely quarantined.
