Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

DAILY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Domestic violence-related charges: 3

Illegal drug-related charges: 9

DWI-related charges: 3

BUSINESS CHECKS, 4/19/13. Officers from Mason, McLean, Franconia, and West Springfield, along with members of the Department of Code Compliance, County Licensing, and the Fire Marshal’s Office inspected several massage businesses. Ten criminal charges were made to include: no massage license, maintain bawdy place (2), allow unlicensed masseuse to give massage, improper massage erogenous zones (2), exposing erogenous zones (2), no massage permit, and frequent bawdy house. Seventeen zoning/code violations and five fire code violations were made.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

6000 block of Honnicut Drive, purse from vehicle

14000 block of River Drive, pain medication from residence

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

2900 block of Arlington Drive, beer and wine from business

7500 block of Richmond Highway, cell phone from residence

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 1400 block of Trombone Court, 4/22/13, 2:20 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include purses. Forced entry was made through a rear door. A K-9 team assisted in searching for suspects but no one was located.

STOLEN VEHICLES:

1800 block of Olney Road, 2001 Dodge

MASON DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 8300 block of Anderson Road, 4/23/13, 11:15 a.m. Officers were called for two teenagers who allegedly entered the model homes. They fled and were located by officers a short time later. Christian Alfaro Chang, 18, of Fairfax, was charged with destruction of property and unlawful entry. Petitions will be sought for a 16-year-old Fairfax boy.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1700 block of Lake Shore Crest Drive, 4/23/13, 5:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a window.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 5400 block of Glenallen Street, 4/23/13, 11:50 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a television. Forced entry was made through a window.

BURGLARY, 5900 block of Langton Drive, 4/23/13, 10:25 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through the front door.

7300 block of Gresham Street, lawn mower from vehicle

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 7700 block of Kalorama Road, 4/23/13, 3:50 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a lock box. Forced entry was made through a window.

9400 block of Fairleigh Court, license plate from vehicle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 13000 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center, 4/23/13, 12:10 a.m. Officer responded for a business alarm and found the front door shattered. It appears nothing was stolen.

LARCENIES:

12300 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, cell phone from residence

West Ox Road/Monument Drive, luggage from vehicle

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 12100 block of Tryton Way, 4/23/13, 7 a.m. A 39-year-old reported his was bitten by a stray cat which found its way into his home. The grey cat ran away. The victim is being treated for rabies as a precaution.

ANIMAL BITE, 2200 block of Wood Oak Drive, 4/23/13, 4:50 p.m. An Animal Control Officer was called to check on a found kitten. The cat was healthy and there was no reason to be impounded. The caller was going to care for the cat when the cat bit her. The white, grey, and orange cat was routinely quarantined. The victim was not seriously injured.
