Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

DAILY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Illegal drug-related charges: 3

DWI-related charges: 5

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

BUSINESS COMPLIANCE, Officers from the West Springfield District conducted business compliance checks at 16 establishments. Three arrests were made the illegal purchase of alcohol and one warning was issued.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6100 block of Old Arrington Lane, 4/25/13, 9:25 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole copper wiring. Entry was made through a window.

LARCENIES:

4000 block of Summer Hollow Court, copper from business

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6600 block of Wakefield Drive, 4/25/13, 12:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. Entry was made through an unlocked door.

LARCENIES:

7700 block of Blue Jay Court, bicycle/tool box from residence

3000 block of Fordson Court, cell phone from business

6500 block of Quander Road, iPhone from business

8300 block of Richmond Highway, cell phone from business

8700 block of Richmond Highway, soda from business

STOLEN VEHICLES:

6000 block of Richmond Highway, Kawasaki ZX6-R motorcycle

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

6600 block of Byrns Place, beer from vehicle

MASON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY/DWI, 3100 block of Patrick Henry Drive, 4/25/13, 3:10 a.m. Officers were called for a burglary in-progress. Prior to arriving at the home an officer detained the suspect as he was driving away. The victim reported she confronted a man known to her after he allegedly entered her home and stole her purse. Forced entry was made through a window. Anh Nguyen, 29, of Sterling, was charged with burglary, destruction of property, obstruction of justice, DWI, and larceny of a pet, credit card, and purse.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

None reported

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

STOLEN AUTO/DIP, 9800 block of Gunston Road, 4/25/13, 2:40 p.m. A 36-year-old reported he walked into a convenience store and left his vehicle running. An unknown man allegedly got in the vehicle and drove away. The vehicle was located a short distance away without a driver. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in locating the suspect hiding in nearby woods. Leroy Crosby, 47, of Woodbridge, was charged with being drunk in public. The case is under investigation.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

5600 block of Eastborne Drive, bicycles from residence

7800 block of Rectory Lane, soda/ice/cigarettes from business

5000 block of Sideburn Road, shoes from business

STOLEN VEHICLES:

4300 block of Americana Drive, Yamaha YZFR6 motorcycle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 9800 block of Sweet Mint Drive, 4/25/13, 7:10 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole clothing. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

LARCENIES:

3000 block of Chain Bridge Road, laptops from business

12000 block of Government Center Parkway, money from business
