Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, Spring Pond Road/Sunset Ridge Road, 4/29/13, 4:15 p.m. A 55-year-old stopped his vehicle and attempted to stop two groups of teenagers from fighting. Some of the teenagers turned on the man and struck him several times before fleeing. The victim sustained minor injuries.

SUSPICIOUS EVENT, 14100 block of Newbrook Drive, 4/29/13, 5:50 p.m. Officers were called for a suspicious package. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team members responded. The package was rendered safe. It contained two DVDs.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6700 block of Richmond Highway, 4/29/13, 2:45 p.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

2200 block of Fordham Drive, wallet from business

6800 block of Lamp Post Lane, electroic device from residence

7700 block of Richmond Highway, wallet from business

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 7500 block of Lee Highway, 4/29/13, 9 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

HIT AND RUN/DWI, Anderson Road/Dolley Madison Boulevard, 4/29/13, 9 p.m. An officer observed a vehicle crash occur in front of him. One driver allegedly continued to drive away at a slow speed. George Daoust, 56, of McLean, was charged with DWI, refusal to provide breath sample, driving while suspended, eluding, and hit and run.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

Four Charged in Armed Robbery

LARCENIES:

3100 block of Brush Drive, four tires from vehicle

3500 block of Carlin Springs Road, laptop, cell phone and electronic device from vehicle

3800 block of Oliver Avenue, four tires from vehicle

3100 block of Valley Lane, four rings from residence

STOLEN VEHICLES:

Murray Lane/Wayne Drive, 2003 Acura

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

1800 block of Horseback Trail, front license plate from vehicle

10000 block of Park Royal Drive, jewelry from residence

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 7200 block of Commerce Street, 4/29/13, 2 a.m. Two individuals entered in an argument in the parking lot. Filidonio Vasquez Sanchez, 32, of Springfield, allegedly struck the 20-year-old victim with a bottle. The victim was transported with non life-threatening injuries. Vasquez Sanchez was charged with malicious wounding.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

7700 block of Backlick Road, tools from vehicle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

13000 block of Fair Lakes, perfumes from business

12100 block of Folkstone Drive, navigation system from vehicle
