Daily Activity Report

This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Falls Church

Man Robbed and Assaulted

3500 block of South Jefferson Street, basket from business

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 2200 block of Cedar Cove Court, A 47-year-old woman reported someone came to her door to sell her meat products. The man asked to use the restroom. Once inside the home, he allegedly touched the victim against her will. He then left the home. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as white, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and between 160 and 190 pounds. He had brown hair.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6900 block of Essex Avenue, 5/8/13, 6:19 p.m. A resident reported someone entered her home and stole a piggy bank containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. coins. Point and method of entry were not determined at the time.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION 

Armed Robbery in Burke Area

BURGLARY, 9000 block of Octavia Court, 5/8/13, 11:27 p.m. Forced entry gained through rear sliding glass door. Jewelry and electronics stolen.

6700 block of Doane Avenue, package from residence

5500 block of Guinea Road, wallet from vehicle

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

None reported

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

Animal Bite, 5300 block of Tessie Terrace, 5/8/13, 1:50 p.m. a 7-year-old girl was playing in a courtyard near her home. Someone opened a gate to an adjacent home and a Pit Bull Terrier ran out and bit the little girl. She was transported to and treated at a local hospital. The owner was identified. The dog was transported to the animal shelter and placed in routine quarantine.
