Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

LARCENIES:

13900 block of Big Yankee Lane, bicycle from residence

7200 block of Ordway Road, jewelry from residence

14600 block of Thera Way, inspection sticker from vehicle

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY/LARCENY, 6800 block of Richmond Highway, 5/14/13, 8:40 a.m. Two men entered the business and split up. One reached over a counter and stole cigarettes. The other attempted to purchase cigarettes; when the transaction failed, he pushed the clerk and stole the cigarettes. No one was injured. The case is under investigation.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 3100 block of Ellenwood Drive, 5/14/13, 10:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

2900 block of Annandale Road, license plate from vehicle

6700 block of Old Dominion Drive, cell phone from business

MASON DISTRICT STATION

CREDIT FRAUD, 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, 5/14/13, 10:50 p.m. An employee reported someone presented a credit card which was declined. Following an investigation, Abdul Razak, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with two counts of obtaining a fraudulent credit card.

7300 block of Franklin Road, tires from vehicle

3100 block of Graham Road, wheels from vehicle

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

1700 block of Dressage Drive, ring from residence

2300 block of Hunters Woods Plaza, pack of beer from business

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8400 block of Terminal Road, 5/14/13, 7:55 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole an engine. There were no signs of forced entry.

PURSUIT, Braddock Road/Heming Avenue, 5/14/13, 5:20 a.m. An officer stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions. After signing the summons, the driver allegedly fled at a high rate of speed. Lincoln Valencia, 65, of Springfield, was charged with no operator’s license, defective equipment, speed to elude, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

None reported

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

PEEPING, 4200 block of Lauries Way, 5/14/13, 2:05 a.m. A 53-year-old reported she saw a man looking in her window. The man fled when he realized she was looking back.
