Daily Activity Report


This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

6000 block of Richmond Highway, two cell phones from vehicle

6700 block of South Benson Drive, cash from residence

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

SUSPICIOUS EVENT, 7900 block of Jones Branch Drive, 5/16/13, 4:20 p.m. A suspicious package was received in the building. The management decided to evacuate the building while Explosives Ordinance officers examined the package. Once evaluated the package was deemed not dangerous and the building resumed regular operations.

8500 block of Leesburg Pike, cash from business

2700 block of Merrilee Drive, cell phone from residence

6600 block of Old Chesterbrook Road, license plate from vehicle

MASON DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

6900 block of Kenfig Drive, tire from vehicle

6000 block of Leesburg Pike, liquor from business

3300 block of Peace Valley Lane, cell phone and money from school

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 1900 block of Logan Manor Drive, 5/16/13, 9:30 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole sports memorabilia. Entry was made through a rear door.

BURGLARY, 2200 block of Lofty Heights Place, 5/16/13, 5:05 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

2400 block of Centreville Road, car keys from business

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

LARCENIES:

5800 block of Accomac Street, cash from residence

6100 block of Joust Lane, license plate from vehicle

5600 block of Vine Street, wallet from vehicle

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

STOLEN VEHICLES:

4000 block of Barker Court, 1998 Chevy Cavalier

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BRANDISHING, 4100 block of Brookgreen Drive, 5/16/13, 4 p.m. Officers were called for man allegedly brandishing a handgun in the front yard. No one was injured. Paramveer Singh, 28, of Fairfax, was charged with brandishing and assault.

PEEPING, 4700 block of Harvest Woods Court, 5/16/13, 11:55 p.m. A 27-year-old reported she saw a man on her patio looking into the home. The suspect fled when she woke up her husband.

9500 block of Lee Highway, cover from vehicle

STOLEN VEHICLES:

12300 block of Oak Creek, 2007 Suzuki motorcycle
