Daily Activity Report

This report is published every weekday, except county holidays. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the day before; reports published on Monday cover the preceding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The time frame is the actual 24-hour period for each day.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Daily Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

Illegal drug-related charges: 34

DWI-related charges: 22

CHECK POINT, Reston Parkway/Sunrise Valley Drive, 5/18/13. Officers from the Reston Police District conducted a DWI check point. Approximately, 548 vehicles passed through. Four drivers were charged with DWI. Three Virginia Uniformed Summonses were issued.


PEEPING, 13700 block of Marsden Court, 5/18/13, 5 a.m. A 29-year-old woman reported someone was allegedly looking into her home. Her husband detained the individual. Jose Saguero Najarro, 33, no fixed address, was charged with peep into a dwelling.

WEAPON, 14100 block of Lotus Lane, 5/18/13, 12:20 a.m. Officers were called for a loud noise. Following an investigation, Gregory McGovern, 21, of Centreville, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. No one was injured.

ASSAULT, Richmond Highway/Sherwood Hall Lane, 5/17/13, 1:55 p.m. A 25-year-old man was allegedly attacked. Joshua Sims, 25, of Alexandria was charged with malicious wounding and drunk in public. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/ASSAULT, 8600 block of Village Way, 5/17/13, 6 p.m. A 33-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by two juveniles who were attempting to enter a vacant home. The victim did not require any medical attention. The case is still under investigation.

BURGLARY, 7100 block of Devonshire Road, 5/19/13, 7:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole silverware. Forced entry was made through a window.

ROBBERY, 1600 block of Anderson Road, 5/18/13, 1:30 a.m. Officers were called for an assault at a business. The suspects fled in a vehicle. Following an investigation Neema Zahed, 20, of Falls Church, was charged with robbery, and Chaz Flood, 23, of Alexandria, was charged with being drunk in public.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 7200 block of Idylwood Road, 5/18/13, 6:40 p.m. Security personnel reported someone entered a construction trailer but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a door.

BURGLARY, 6900 block of Turner Avenue, 5/19/13, 10 p.m. A resident reported someone entered her home and stole a bicycle. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

ASSAULT, 3400 block of Lake Street, 5/19/13, 2:40 a.m. A 32-year-old man was attending a party. An unknown person stabbed him. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The case is still under investigation.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 6000 block of Leesburg Pike, 5/19/13, 5:15 p.m. A 35-year-old woman reported someone allegedly inappropriately touched her. Following an investigation, Abdilkadir Hussein, 44, of no fixed address, was charged with sexual battery.
