This report is published every Friday. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the week before. Reports cover a time frame from the preceding Thursday through the next Wednesday.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

WEEKLY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Domestic violence-related charges: 30

Illegal drug-related charges: 77

DWI-related charges: 53

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 6/8/13. Officers from the Operations Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Thirty-Two summonses and 13 warnings were issued. There was also one criminal arrest.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

Woman Robbed in Centreville area

BURGLARY, 5900 block of Raina Drive, 6/11/13, 8:40 p.m. A manager reported someone entered the pool office and stole a computer. Forced entry was made through a window.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 4500 block of Colony Court, 6/8/13, 5:40 p.m. A resident reported someone attempted to enter the home. The suspect fled without taking anything. Forced entry was made through a window.

ROBBERY, 7200 block of Harrison Lane, 6/8/13, 9:50 p.m. A 21-year-old man reported he was allegedly robbed by three juveniles. The victim was walking up to a building when he was struck several times. The suspects fled with a cell phone and wallet. The victim was not seriously injured. A 17-year-old girl, of Alexandria, was charged with robbery and illegal possession of alcohol. An investigation is on-going.

Pedestrian Crash Involving Police Car

SEX OFFENSE, Fort Drive/North Kings Highway, 6/11/13, 6:05 p.m. A 31-year-old woman reported a man approached her and grabbed her buttocks. The man fled and she was not injured. Several officers and the helicopter searched the area but did not located the suspect.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue, 6/11/13, 6:30 p.m. A 35-year-old woman flagged down officers claiming a young man exposed himself to her while she was walking her dog. Following a search of the area and an investigation, Marvin Melendez, 18, of Alexandria, was charged with indecent exposure.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 6800 block of Redmond Drive, 6/8/13, 9 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. There were no signs of forced entry.

DWI/CRASH, Grande Lane/Great Falls Street, 6/9/13, 4:15 a.m. An officer woke up a driver stopped in the road. The driver allegedly sped away and stuck a vehicle and mail box while fleeing. The vehicle eventually stopped. Landry Ntwari, 19, of Falls Church, was charged with speed to elude, hit and run, destruction of property, driving on a suspended license, and DWI.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1900 block of Ware Road, 6/10/13, 2:45 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown man entered the home. The suspect fled without taking anything. The front door was not secured.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

Bank Robbed in Bailey's Crossroads

STOLEN MOTORCYCLE, 6200 block of Little River Turnpike, 6/8/13, 2:10 p.m. An officer received a LoJack signal in his cruiser. He located a stolen motorcycle and its operator. Joseph Wilson, 25, of Delaware, was charged with grand larceny of an auto, possession of schedule 3 narcotics, and obstruction of justice. An investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

DWI/HIT AND RUN, 7100 Noland Road, 6/8/13, 9:20 p.m. An officer was responding to a hit and run crash when he saw the suspect vehicle. An investigation revealed the passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop, John Dickie, 30, of Arlington, allegedly caused the hit and run. He was charged with DWI, refusal, and hit and run. The driver at the time of the traffic stop, Marco Delgado, 33, of Springfield, was charged with DWI, refusal, and driving on a revoked license.

TRESPASSING, 3800 block of Barcroft Lane, 6/10/13, 1:35 a.m. A resident woke when his dog barked. The resident saw three juveniles in and around his vehicle. Three Falls Church-area boys were detained by officers a few blocks away. The case is under investigation.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 2100 block of Seaman Court, 6/6/13, 2:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include electronic devices. Forced entry was made through a window.

BURGLARY, 1400 block of Valebrook Lane, 6/11/13, 11:25 a.m. A resident reported two young men attempted to enter his home. The helicopter assisted in locating the two Herndon-area juvenile suspects. The case is under investigation and charges are pending.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

PEEPING, 5500 block of Clermont Drive, 6/7/13, 12:05 a.m. A 26-year-old woman woke up when she heard someone outside her window. She saw a man looking inside. The suspect fled.

STABBING, 3800 block of Franconia Road, 6/9/13, 4:30 p.m. A group of friends was watching TV when, allegedly, one of them punched a 53-year-old man. The suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and cut the 53-year-old. A 47-year-old man was also cut attempting to subdue the suspect. Both victims received non life-threatening injuries. Richard Barnes, 48, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding.

NARCOTICS, 5700 block of South Van Dorn Street, 6/11/13, 12:05 a.m. Officers were called for a naked man in the median. Allegedly the man became belligerent with officers who deployed a conducted energy device. Jamar Rucker, 39, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, and drunk in public. An unrelated warrant from another jurisdiction was also served.

ASSAULT, 9100 block of Aspenpark Court, 6/12/13, noon. A 14-year-old girl reported she heard a pop sound and felt a pain on her finger. It appears she was struck by BB which did not break the skin. Officers and the helicopter searched the area, but no suspect was located.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, 6500 block of Grange Lane, 6/12/13, 2:25 a.m. Officers responded for a domestic dispute. They found the family dog, a Pit Bull Terrier, biting a man. Officers used a conducted energy device on the dog which ran away after the effects subsided. The man, Jamar Rucker, 39, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of PCP and two counts of domestic assault. The uninjured dog was located and captured the following morning.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

SUSPICIOUS EVENT, 6100 block of Forest Creek, 6/8/13, 4 a.m. Officers were called for a naked teenage boy attempting to enter an unknown home. An investigation revealed another boy was unaccounted for in the area. Both boys were under the influence of an unknown substance. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in locating the second boy. Both boys were returned home.

BURGLARY, 7700 block of Backlick Road, 6/9/13, 10:35 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business but did not steal anything. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

BURGLARY, 12100 block of Lee Highway, 6/9/13, 2:35 a.m. Officers responded for a commercial burglary and found a window smashed out. Nothing was stolen. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in locating a suspect on the property. Isaac Davidson, 20, of Burke was charged with burglary.

BURGLARY, 3900 block of Centreville Road, 6/10/13, 9:45 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and damaged filing cabinets. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY, 4800 block of Muddler Way, 6/11/13, 11:25 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a television. There were no signs of forced entry.

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 7400 block of Telegraph Road, 6/10/13, 7 p.m. A 32-year-old man reported he was at the park when a black unknown dog appeared. The dog bit the man and ran away. Bite notices will be posted. The victim received minor injuries.

ANIMAL BITE, 4600 block of Tara Drive, 6/11/13, 8:50 a.m. A 46-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle. A Labrador Retriever ran off its property and bit the woman. She received minor injuries. The dog was routinely quarantined.
