This report is published every Friday. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the week before. Reports cover a time frame from the preceding Thursday through the next Wednesday.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Weekly Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

WEEKLY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/3/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Twenty-eight summonses and 12 warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/4/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty-two summonses were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/5/13. Officers from the McLean Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty summonses and 23 warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/6/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Twenty-five summonses and eight warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/6/13. Officers from the Reston Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Three summonses and 14 warnings were issued. Two criminal arrests were made.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/3/13. Officers from the Operations Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. One driver was charged with DWI. Forty summonses and 11 warnings were issued. One criminal arrest was made.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/6/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty-six summonses and 10 warnings were issued. One criminal arrest was made.

DIRECTED PATROL, 7/7/13. Officers from the Fair Oaks Police District patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Ten summonses and four warnings were issued.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT, Braddock Road/Newton Patent Drive, 7/4/13, 8:20 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation. The motorcycle operator allegedly sped away at a high rate of speed. The officer was able to locate the vehicle and operator. Michael Nelson, 37, of Alexandria, was charged with speed to elude, driving on a revoked license, and operating an unregistered vehicle.

BURGLARY, 5100 block of Westfields Boulevard, 7/9/13, 2:20 p.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole alcohol. There were no signs of forced entry.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8100 block of Fordson Road, 7/4/13, 9:45 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the community pool and stole tools. Forced entry was made through the front door.

TRESPASSING, 3700 block of Fielding Street, 7/3/13, 10 p.m. Officers observed a wanted individual on the property. Michael Kamara, 20, of Alexandria, was arrested, served the outstanding warrant and charged with trespassing.

WEAPON, 8600 block of Walutes Circle, 7/4/13, 9:20 p.m. Officers were called for a shooting. Allegedly, Kadeem Allen, 22, of Alexandria, was handling a handgun when it unintentionally discharged. The round struck a 19-year-old woman in the upper body. She was transported to the hospital with non life-threating injuries. Allen was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

ROBBERY, 7200 block of Fordson Road, 7/7/13, 5:45 a.m. Two men were approached by a suspect who pushed and punched the two victims. The suspect took cash and fled. The victims were not seriously injured.

Missing Adult Returns Home

UNAUTHORIZED USE, 8000 block of Fordson Road, 7/7/13, 9:30 p.m. Officers were called for a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. They located Brenda Dilworth, 50, of no fixed address. She was allegedly driving a rented truck which was overdue in another state. She was charged with unauthorized use.

BURGLARY, 8800 block of Pear Tree Village Court, 7/8/13, 7:05 a.m. An employee reported someone entered two businesses, but it is not clear if anything was stolen. Forced entry was made through the front doors.

ROBBERY, 2300 block of Glendale Terrace, 7/10/13, 9:40 p.m. A 47-year-old woman stepped out of her car and was approached by three men. One suspect demanded her keys. She began screaming and the suspects fled. She was not injured.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT/DWI/ASSAULT, Idylwood Road/Barbour Road, 7/4/13, 4:55 p.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The driver allegedly sped away. The officer followed. The driver eventually slowed the vehicle and fled on foot from the moving vehicle. Once the officer caught up, the suspect allegedly actively resisted the arrest. Edwin Cordova-Jimenez, 22, of Falls Church, was charged with assault on a police officer, DWI, speed to elude and driving without a license. The officer received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The suspect was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

BURGLARY, 6600 block of Old Dominion Drive, 7/6/13, 5 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a window.

BURGLARY, 1000 block of Gelston Circle, 7/6/13, 11:25 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through rear door.

BURGLARY, 7000 block of Arbor Lane, 7/7/13, 7:30 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry and cash. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

BURGLARY, 1000 block of Towlston Road, 7/10/13, 9:35 a.m. A resident reported that someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY, 8500 block of Lee Highway, 7/10/13, 12:25 a.m. Officers responded for commercial burglary alarm. They allegedly did find a suspect in the business. Jaxon Chavez Reyes, 25, of Alexandria, was charged with burglary, grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell, and possession of burglarious tools. Forced entry was made through a window.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8500 block of Arlington Boulevard, 7/3/13, 7:45 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through the front door.

ROBBERY, 4900 block of Manitoba Drive, 7/3/13, 5:40 p.m. A 34-year-old man was robbed of cash the night before by five unknown men. The suspects approached the victim, assaulted him, and took the cash. The victim was not seriously injured.

WEAPON, 6300 block of Wingate Street, 7/4/13, 2:20 a.m. Eric Edmond, 31, of Alexandria, was home alone. He allegedly chambered a round in his handgun causing an unintended discharge. No one was injured. He was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

ASSAULT, 4200 block of Annandale Road, 7/5/13, 1:50 a.m. Officers responded for an unknown situation. A man approached the officers while they were conducting their initial interview. He allegedly did not obey commands to stay away, was intoxicated, and resisted arrest. Ubaldo Lemus Lovo, 46, of Maryland, was charged with being drunk in public, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer.

ROBBERY, 4900 block of Beauregard Street, 7/7/13, 11:50 p.m. A 55-year-old woman was approached by two teenaged boys. They grabbed her purse and attempted to pull it away. She was able to hold on and yell. The boys fled and she was not injured.

BURGLARY, 1300 block of Aldbury Way, 7/7/13, 2:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

Police Pursuit Results in Drug Arrest

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2100 block of Westglade Court, 7/9/13, 11:05 a.m. A citizen reported someone who does not live there entered a residence. Jermaine Purnell, 31, of Reston, was allegedly located in the residence and charged with unlawful entry.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1400 Lake Fairfax Drive, 7/9/13, 6:15 a.m. Officers were called for a report that someone entered the pool area. No one was located and there were no signs of forced entry.

PEEPING, 6000 block of Stoddard Court, 7/3/13, 3:20 p.m. A 23-year-old woman was watching television when she saw a man at her window looking inside. The suspect fled prior to officers arriving.

PEEPING, 7500 block of Woodside Lane, 7/5/13, 10:55 p.m. A 28-year-old woman was watching television when she saw a man at her window looking inside. The suspect fled prior to officers arriving.

TRESPASSING, 7200 block of Barry Road, 7/10/13, 10:15 a.m. A real estate inspector was checking on a residence and found evidence that someone had entered the home. There were no signs of forced entry.

TRESPASSING, 7100 block of Beulah Street, 7/10/13, 6:15 p.m. Officers responded for an alarm at the school. Allegedly five juveniles were found in and around the school. All five boys (two age 12, two age 13, and one age 15) from the Alexandria-area were charged with trespassing.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

DWI, Covered Bridge Road/Lee Chapel Road, 7/5/13, 7:40 p.m. Officers were called for a driver slumped over the steering wheel. Allegedly, the driver refused commands when officers provided instructions. Jared Jones, 25, of Fairfax Station, was charged with driving while intoxicated and obstruction of justice.

ASSAULT, 8100 block of American Holly Road, 7/7/13, 5:45 p.m. Officers were called for a stabbed person. A 54-year-old woman was located with several lacerations. She was transported with non life-threatening injuries. Jae Yoo, 21, of Lorton, was charged with malicious wounding.

ROBBERY, Allman Drive/McWhorter Place, 7/9/13, 12:20 p.m. A 13-year-old girl was walking in the area when two unknown teenagers approached. The suspects brandished a knife and demanded cash. She handed them cash and they fled. She was not injured.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 13600 block of Legacy Circle, 7/4/13, 5:20 p.m. A resident reported that someone entered the home and stole an iPod. Entry was made through the front door.

WEAPON/IMPERSONATION, 11900 Palace Way, 7/6/13, 11 p.m. A man walked into the business carrying an alcoholic beverage. A security officer approached and informed the man that alcoholic beverages are not allowed. The man allegedly claimed to be a law enforcement officer and brandished a handgun. When challenged again, the man fled. Hodifa Tunalli, 18, of Fairfax, was charged with brandishing a firearm and impersonating a law enforcement officer.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 12100 block of Polo Drive, 7/9/13, 2:50 a.m. A resident heard a noise inside his apartment, investigated, allegedly located a man inside and detained him. The suspect, Juan Giron Guzman, 44, of Fairfax, was charged with unlawful entry.

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL BITE, 7200 block of Lyndam Hill Circle, 7/3/13, 12:10 p.m. A 47-year-old woman found a kitten on the side of the road that was possibly struck by a vehicle. The woman took the cat to a veterinarian and was bitten in the process. She received minor injuries. The kitten was routinely quarantined.

MALTREAT ANIMAL, 13000 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center, 7/4/13, 3 p.m. Animal Control Officer were called to the parking lot for a dog left in a vehicle with its windows closed. The owner, Christopher Mendez, 21, of Fairfax, was charged with inadequate animal care. The Chihuahua appeared to be unharmed.

ANIMAL BITE, 7900 block of Central Park Circle, 7/5/13, 11 a.m. Animal Control Officers were called for a Chihuahua mix running in the area. After the dog was captured, the officer learned that an 8-year-old boy was bitten by the dog. The dog was impounded. The victim received minor injuries.
