The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

CHECKPOINT, Arlington Boulevard/Fairmount Street, 7/13/13. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Seven-hundred-thirty-five vehicles passed through. Four drivers were charged with DWI. Five summonses were issued and three criminal arrests were made.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 5000 block of Oakcrest Drive, 7/12/13, 5:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, 14300 block of Green Trails Boulevard, 7/12/13, 8 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the pool area and damaged several items.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 2900 block of John Marshall Drive, 7/12/13, 2:45 a.m. Officers responded for a stabbing and located a 25-year-old man with a laceration. The victim was transported with non life-threatening injuries. An investigation revealed the victim and suspect knew each other. An argument evolved into a physical fight where the victim was allegedly cut. Gerson Valdez, 19, of Falls Church, was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a fraudulent identification, and possession of marijuana.

ANIMAL BITE, 6100 block of Larstan Drive, 7/12/13, 9:40 a.m. the parent of a 5-year-old boy reported a Poodle not on a leash bit her son. The boy was not seriously injured. Notices have been posted searching for owner of the dog.
