WEEKLY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Domestic violence-related charges: 29

Illegal drug-related charges: 59

DWI-related charges: 52

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 8/2/13. Officers from the West Springfield Police District Station patrolled the district searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Fifteen summonses and 24 warnings were issued. There were also two criminal arrests.

BUI CHECKPOINT, Pohick Bay, 8/4/13. Officers from the Marine Patrol Unit conducted a Boating Under the Influence Checkpoint. Forty-two vessels were checked. No BUI charges were made. Two Virginia Uniform Summonses and 24 safety warnings were issued.

ASSAULT, 7700 block of Richmond Highway, 8/1/13, 12:45 p.m. Officers were called for a man running in and out of traffic. They located Kyle Reyle, 21, of Alexandria. Reyle was charged with being drunk in public and assault on a police officer.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK, Gallows Road/Cottage Street, 8/1/13, 8:15 a.m. A 26-year-old woman was jogging. She apparently attempted to cross the street against the crosswalk signal and was struck by a 2013 Ford Focus. She was transported with non life-threatening injuries.

BURGLARY, 6600 block of Orland Street, 8/2/13, 8:40 a.m. Two residents reported someone entered their attached garages and stole a bicycle from each garage. Entry was made through open doors.

ROBBERY, Greenway Boulevard/Lee Highway, 8/6/13, 9:50 p.m. A 45-year-old man was standing on the corner when two unknown men approached and took cash from the victim. The victim was not injured.

BURGLARY, 8100 block of Old Dominion Drive, 8/7/13, 6:30 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 3400 block of Holly Road, 8/1/13, 11:40 p.m. Officers were called for a man allegedly walking around naked. Mikey Brandwater, 53, of no fixed address, was charged with indecent exposure and resisting arrest.

ASSAULT, 5900 block of Columbia Pike, 8/2/13, 8 a.m. A 27-year-old got into an argument with an acquaintance. Allegedly, Anthony Morris, 45, of no fixed address, stabbed the 27-year-old. The victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Morris was charged with malicious wounding.

BURGLARY, 3200 block of Sydenham Street, 8/7/13, 6:35 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY, 7600 block of Oakridge Woods Court, 8/7/13, 10 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole an iPhone. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

BURGLARY, 5700 block of Burke Centre Parkway. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole beer. Forced entry was made through a window. This occurred on August 3, 4, and 7.

PEEPING, 5900 block of Cove Landing Road, 8/5/13, 2:45 a.m. A 16-year-old girl was woken by her dog. The girl looked out the window and saw someone looking into the room. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

TRESPASSING, 9800 block of Burke Pond Lane, 8/6/13, 11:35 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the property and destroyed several items but nothing was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY, 8500 block of Parliament Drive, 8/7/13, 3:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a television. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

INDECENT EXPOSRUE, Fields Brigade Road/Walnut Cove Circle, 8/2/13, 12:35 p.m. A 25-year-old woman was running on a path when she saw a man exposing himself. The suspect was gone before officers arrived.

BURGLARY, 3500 block of Armfield Farm Drive, 8/2/13, 5:50 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

ROBBERY, 9500 block of Blake Lane, 8/4/13, 2:45 a.m. A 21-year-old man was walking with a friend and encountered a group of men who were walking in the opposite direction. A fight broke out between the two groups and a suspect allegedly demanded the victim’s cell phone. Jose Ramirez-Gomes, 32, of Fairfax, and Jose Hernandez-Pena, 21, of Fairfax, were each charged with robbery.

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

MALTREAT ANIMAL, 6100 block of Franconia Road, 8/7/13, 6:35 p.m. An Animal Control Officer was called for an injured Miniature Pinscher mix puppy that was alone in a parking lot. An initial investigation indicates the puppy was abandoned. The puppy was taken to be treated for its injuries.
