This report is published every Friday. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the week before. Reports cover a time frame from the preceding Thursday through the next Wednesday.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Utah Man Charged on Fairfax County Warrants

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 8/9/13. Officers from the Operations Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Thirty-seven summonses and 14 warnings were issued.

DIRECTED PATROL, 8/10/13. Officers from the Operations Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. No drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty-eight summonses and 8 warnings were issued.

CHECKPOINT, West Ox Road/Penderbrook Drive, 8/10/13. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Six-hundred-thirteen vehicles passed through. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Five summonses were issued and two criminal arrests were made.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 14700 block of Wycombe Street, 8/14/13, 4 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a laptop computer. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT/ASSAULT, Cooper Road/Richmond Highway, 8/8/13, 12:10 a.m. An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Richmond Highway/Sacramento Drive. The vehicle fled. Several officers were involved in the pursuit and Stop-Sticks were deployed to help slow the fleeing vehicle. The driver, David Uzzle, 22, of Alexandria, was charged with assault on a police officer, speed to elude, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, open container, driving on a suspended license, and improper registration. The passenger, Dominque Whitaker, 23, of Alexandria, was charged with being drunk in public.

BURGLARY, 4200 block of Aspen Drive, 8/8/13, 8 a.m. A resident reported someone entered his home and stole the keys to his vehicle and the vehicle. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

Arrest in Hybla Valley Shooting

BURGLARY, 3000 block of Marl Pat Drive, 8/8/13, 7:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

SHOPLIFTING, 7700 block of Richmond Highway, 8/8/13, 8 p.m. An employee reported an individual allegedly left the store without paying for copper pipes and other merchandise. Following a short foot pursuit, Christopher Blankenship, 26, of Maryland, was charged with grand larceny and possession with intent to sell.

RACING, Arlington Drive/Richmond Highway, 8/9/13, 11 p.m. An officer initiated a stop on two motorcycles allegedly racing north on Richmond Highway. Both motorcyclists fled from the officers. One was not identified. The other, Erik Lucas, 28, of Woodbridge, was charged with speed to elude and racing on a highway.

BURGLARY, 7300 block of Richmond Highway, 8/10/13, 4 p.m. Officers responded for an alarm and found a front door shattered. An employee confirmed cell phones were stolen.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

SHOPLIFTING, 2800 block of Merrilee Drive, 8/8/13, 10:15 a.m. An employee reported two individuals allegedly left the store without paying for copper pipes. Officers located a vehicle and arrested the two. Damian Lofton, 24, of Lorton, was charged with grand larceny and possession with intent to sell. Charles Jackson, 25, of Alexandria, was charged with grand larceny.

BURGLARY, 6500 block of Arlington Boulevard, 8/9/13, 6:10 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

Beware of Being Scammed in Parking Lots

BURGLARY, 2800 block of Meadow Lane, 8/10/13, 6:10 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a television. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

BURGLARY, 1900 block of Miracle Lane, 8/10/13, 8:35 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

BUSINESS CHECKS, 8/9/13. Officers from the Mason Station with members of the Department of Code Compliance, County Licensing, and the Fire Marshal’s Office inspected several massage businesses. Five criminal violations and nineteen building code violations were cited. One warning was issued reference a display of license.

Street Robbery in the Falls Church Area

FRAUD, 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, 8/9/13, 9 p.m. Officers responded for a possible prescription fraud involving liquid codeine. Following a short foot pursuit and investigation, Isiah Agyekum, 22, of Washington, DC, was charged with obtaining a prescription by false pretense and assisting another to obtain prescription by false pretense.

PEEPING, 3500 block of South George Mason Drive, 8/13/13, 12:05 a.m. A 50-year-old woman reported someone looking into her home. The suspect fled when she saw him.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

PEEPING, 12000 Taliesin Place, 8/8/13, 2:30 a.m. A 29-year-old woman reported a man was looking in her window. The suspect fled when she called the police.

ROBBERY, 11500 block of Maple Ridge Road, 8/7/13, 10:45 p.m. A 46-year-old man was walking on a path when two men approached. They assaulted him and stole cash. The victim received injuries but reported the incident the following day.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Cobble Mill Road/Hunter Mill Road, 8/8/13, 9:05 p.m. Officers were called for an individual allegedly attempting to get into a stranger’s vehicle. Samy Bensidhoum, 18, of Reston, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

BURGLARY, 2300 block of Cypress Cove Circle, 8/13/13, 8:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE, 5800 block of Fitzhugh Street, 8/10/13, 11:40 p.m. Officers responded for the sound of possible gunshots. Following an investigation, Clifton Sevachko, 55, of Burke, was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm.

BURGLARY, 5500 block of Inverchapel Road, 8/12/13, 11 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

PEEPING, 10200 block of Colston Court, 8/14/13, 2:30 a.m. A 25-year-old woman awoke to see a man looking into the home. The man fled when she threw a pillow at the window.

ROBBERY, 11200 block of James Swart Circle, 8/13/13, 2:20 a.m. A 24-year-old man was entering his car when another man allegedly demanded the vehicle and assaulted the victim. Following an investigation, James Welch, 38, of New Jersey, was charged with carjacking and being drunk in public.
