This report is published every Friday. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the week before. Reports cover a time frame from the preceding Thursday through the next Wednesday.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Weekly Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

Police Seek Public's Assistance in Locating Missing Man

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

BUSINESS COMPLIANCE, 8/22/13. Officers in the West Springfield Police District conducted business compliance checks at 15 businesses. Three arrests were made for the illegal sale of alcohol.

DIRECTED PATROL, 8/23/13. Officers from the Operations Support Bureau patrolled the county searching for drunk drivers. Five drivers were charged with DWI. Thirty-five summonses and 10 warnings were issued.

CHECKPOINT, Telegraph Road/Farmington Drive, 8/24/13. Officers from the Mount Vernon and Franconia Police Distrists conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Five-hundred-forty-one vehicles passed through. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Eight summonses were issued and one criminal arrest was made.

DIRECTED PATROL, 8/24/13. Officers from the Sully Police District patrolled the area searching for drunk drivers. Five drivers were charged with DWI. Twenty summonses and 19 warnings were issued. Additionally, one criminal arrest was made.

BUI CHECKPOINT, Pohick Bay, 8/25/13. Officers from the Marine Patrol Unit conducted a Boating Under the Influence Checkpoint. Forty-two vessels were checked. No BUI charges were made. Eleven safety warnings were issued.

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 14200 block of Centreville Square, 8/23/13, 5:20 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through the front door.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 7000 block of Clifton Road, 8/26/13, 9:05 p.m. Officers responded for an alarm and searched the building. No one was located inside. Following a search of the area, a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were found in the tree-line. They admitted to forcing entry through a window. They were handed over to their parents. Charges are pending.

BURGLARY, 6300 block of Cider Barrel Circle, 8/28/13, 1:20 p.m. Resident reported someone entered the residence and took property. Entry was made through a garage door.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 8200 block of Richmond Highway, 8/22/13, 6:25 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and stole business documents. Forced entry was made through a window.

BURGLARY, 3900 block of Stoneybrooke Drive, 8/22/13, 11:55 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a door.

Convenience Store Robbery in Huntington Area

ROBBERY, 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard, 8/27/13, 5:50 p.m. A 20-year-old man was sitting when three men approached him. One suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take an electronic device. The victim resisted and all three suspects fled on foot. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as black males in their 20s.

BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION, 7500 block of Republic Court, 8/21/13 – 8/28/13. An employee reported someone entered an empty apartment and vandalized property.

BURGLARY, 1800 block of Edgehill Drive, 8/23/13-08/27/13. A resident reported someone entered the residence and stole cash and property. Forced entry was made through a window.

ROBBERY, 7400 block of Fordson Road, 8/28/13, 2:05 p.m. A 72-year-old man was walking home when two individuals approached from behind. One suspect grabbed the victim while the other suspect grabbed cash from the victim. The victim was not injured. First suspect described as a tall black male with short hair and the second suspect was described as a short black male with shoulder-length hair.

Police Investigate Death of 16-Year-Old Girl

BURGLARY, 2200 block of Casemont Drive, 8/24/13, 6:25 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home. It is not clear what was stolen. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

BURGLARY, 1700 block of Gosnell Road, 8/25/13, 2:55 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a laptop computer. There were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY, 7300 block of Gordons Road, 8/25/13, 10:30 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

ASSAULT, 3100 block of Allen Street, 8/29/13, 1:25 a.m. A 45-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body by two men while walking. The suspects approached from behind, assaulted the victim and fled. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The suspects were described as black, 25 to 30 years old.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT, 7400 block of Floyd Avenue, 8/22/13, 3:35 p.m. A 16-year-old was at a basketball court when three unknown men struck him several times. The victim went to the hospital and was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

LARCENY, 6300 block of Backlick Road, 8/22/13, 1:50 p.m. A 22-year-old woman was walking into a business. An unknown man grabbed her wallet and attempted to flee with it. She was able to maintain hold of the wallet and was not injured. The suspect fled.

ROBBERY, 9400 block of Richmond Highway, 8/26/13, 12:20 p.m. An 18-year-old man was walking home at approximately 4 a.m. when three individuals approached and demanded his money. The victim was stabbed during the altercation. The suspect fled without stealing anything. The victim responded to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 7700 block of Stone Wheat Court, 8/26/13, 4:25 p.m. A resident reported an unknown man walked into the home through an unsecured door. The man left immediately when he saw someone in the home. Nothing was stolen.

Attempted Burglary and Assault in Burke Area

BRANDISHING, 8000 block of Edinburgh Drive, 8/25/13, 10:55 p.m. A 35- year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle. Two young men approached and pointed a handgun at him. The victim hit the panic button on his car alarm and both suspects fled. No one was injured.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 7700 block of Donnybrook Court, 8/24/13, 5:15 p.m. A 30-year-old woman walked out of her bedroom to find a stranger in the living room. The man immediately fled. No one was injured and nothing was stolen.

BURGLARY, 3100 block of Ariana Drive, 8/26/13, 8 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.

DESTRUCTION/BIAS CRIME, 3400 block of Waples Glen Court, 8/26/13, 4:15 p.m. A swastika was found etched into an outdoor staircase. The case is under investigation.
