ACTIVITIES REPORTED THROUGH October 2, 2013


This report is published every Friday. The information in each report covers significant criminal incidents from the week before. Reports cover a time frame from the preceding Thursday through the next Wednesday.

The report contains selected crimes, including animal-related incidents and property crimes. The information is organized by district station. If a section has no reported incident, that section will not be shown. Addresses shown indicate blocks and not specific locations.

Note: Information contained in the Weekly Activity Report is generally based on initial reports made to the police department. Follow-up investigations may reveal additional information. Also, this report is not a comprehensive list of every police event in Fairfax County in the stated time frame.

WEEKLY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES

Domestic violence-related charges: 29

Illegal drug-related charges: 71

DWI-related charges: 53

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

DIRECTED PATROL, 9/28/13. Officers from the Sully District Police Station patrolled searching for drunk drivers. Thirty-one vehicles were stopped but no drivers were charged with DWI. Twelve summonses and seventeen warnings were issued.

 

MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY

TRUCK INSPECTIONS, 4601 West Ox Road, 10/1/13. Officers stopped and inspected twenty-two trucks. Eight trucks were taken out of service. Seventy-seven total violations were found.

 

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 14000 block of Lotus Lane, 9/27/13, 1:50 a.m. A 31-year-old woman reported that while looking out her window she saw a man expose himself. By the time she called police the man had fled. The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect.

BURGLARY, 15000 block of Compton Road, 9/29/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

ROBBERY, 14000 block of Battery Ridge Lane, 9/28/13, 12:48 a.m. A 51-year-old man was walking when he was assaulted from behind.  Two men then took cash from the victim and fled in a beige car.

BURGLARY, 14000 block of Saint Germain Drive, 10/2/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY, 7000 block of Stork Road, 9/26/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 7400 block of Mount Vernon Square Center, 9/26/13, 4:50 p.m.. A 24-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk. An unknown man was standing between vehicles in a parking lot when he exposed himself. He fled when she called the police. The suspect is described as black and in his 40’s.

ROBBERY, 8400 block of Madge Lane, 9/27/13, 11:50 p.m. A 36-year-old man was walking when two men approached him. One suspect assaulted the victim and both took property from the victim. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as Hispanic, 20s, with medium builds

ROBBERY, 2200 block of Huntington Avenue, 9/29/13, 7:56 p.m. A 41-year-old man was walking when three men assaulted and took cash from him. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as black males in their 20s.

BURGLARY, 6000 block of Tower Drive, 9/30/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

BURGLARY, 1000 block of Hidden Fox Way, 9/26/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 8000 block of Leesburg Pike, 9/27/13, 9:37 a.m. A 48-year-old woman was walking inside a parking garage, when a man exposed himself. The victim fled and called the police. The suspect was described as black, 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.

BURGLARY, 1000 block of Gosnell Road, 9/28/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

BURGLARY, 800 block of Whann Avenue, 9/29/13. A resident reported someone entered the home and took property.

SEX OFFENSE, 7400 block of Arlington Boulevard, 9/28/13, 8:55 p.m. A 31-year-old woman was walking when a man rode past her on a bicycle and inappropriately touched her. He fled and she was not injured. The suspect was described as Hispanic, 20s, and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

ROBBERY, 7900 block of Sycamore Drive, 9/30/13, 10:30 a.m. A 66-year-old woman was walking when she was assaulted from behind. Cash and personal property was taken from the victim and she sustained a non-life threatening injury. The victim was unable to provide suspect information.

ROBBERY, 6400 block of Bowie Drive, 9/27/13, 6:53 p.m. A 52-year-old woman was walking when a man ran past her and attempted to grab property from the victim. The suspect was described as black.

ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION

ANIMAL NEGLECT, 7000 block of Stanford Drive, 10/1/13. An Animal Control Officer responded to check on the welfare of two dogs. Both dogs were taken into custody and transported to a local animal hospital for treatment. Timothy Parsons, 48, and Kathryn Delozier, 49 were both charged with providing inadequate animal care by owner.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT

This will be the last Activity Report issued by the Fairfax County Police Department every week. Starting October 4, 2013 (tomorrow), the department will be producing a Daily Blotter which will contain the same information as the Activity Report but will be issued every weekday.
