In furtherance of the Police Department's mission of "protecting persons and property by providing...public safety services while promoting community involvement...through assistance...," a number of tips for various types of crime prevention are provided here.

It is the hope of Fairfax County Police Department that citizens will become more aware of steps and actions that they can take to better ensure their safety and help to maximize the delivery of law enforcement services. We hope to accomplish this by developing a partnership between the Department and individuals and groups to educate, involve and develop confidence among members of the community.
