Sexual Assault in Springfield Area

 

            An 18-year-old woman was raped by a man in the 6200 block of Dana Avenue on Thursday, April 24. She was walking with her 3-month-old daughter in Commerce Plaza around 7:55 p.m., when a man armed with a handgun forced her to the rear of a nearby residence. The suspect threatened the baby, raped the victim then fled. The baby was not injured and the victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

            The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his mid-20s. He was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall with an average build. He had black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black shirt and black pants.
