Crime Solvers Seeks Suspects in Mailbox Destructions
Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for damaging at least 18 mailboxes in the Burke area. Around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, police were called to the 9800 block of South Park Circle for someone reportedly smashing mailboxes. Officers found numerous mailboxes damaged throughout the neighborhood. The following streets were affected:
- The 7100 block of Laketree Court – 7 mailboxes
- The 9700 block of South Park Circle – 1 mailbox
- The 9800 block of South Park Circle – 6 mailboxes
- The 7500 block of Wilderness Way – 4 mailboxes
A sport utility vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed prior to the officers’ arrival. Total damage is estimated to be around $2,000. A $100 to $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest. As always, callers never need to give their names or appear in court.
