Woman Arrested for Identity Theft
Fairfax County Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman for identity theft. On Wednesday, April 30, employees of the Commerce Bank, 6615 Richmond Highway, contacted police in reference to suspicious activity involving a bank account. The investigation revealed that Andrea Mooring, of Fort Washington, Maryland, allegedly stole the identity of a 29-year-old Washington, D.C. woman, opened a fraudulent bank account, got a personal loan and withdrew approximately $1,300. The suspect apparently had access to the victim’s personal information while working in the management office of an apartment complex in Washington, D.C.
Mooring was arrested inside the bank and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. She was charged with forgery, obtaining money by false pretenses, money laundering and felony identity theft. Police impounded a 2000 Infiniti I30 for seizure and recovered over $900 in currency.
