UPDATE – Arrests Made

            Detectives have arrested three people for a robbery at the Dollar Plus on March 15. Cassie M. Redmon, 18, of 8117 Lakepark Drive was arrested at the Mount Vernon District Station on April 29. A 17-year-old Alexandria-area boy was arrested at his home on May 1. Betty Minnick, 18, of 8206 Gleaves Court turned herself in to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on May 2.

            Redmon was charged with robbery and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The juvenile was charged with robbery and taken to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. Minnick was charged with accessory before the fact and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Robbery at the Dollar Plus

            At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 a robbery occurred at the Dollar Plus at 8646 Richmond Highway. The clerk, a 49-year-old Fairfax woman, reported that a man with a gun came into the store and demanded money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and left. There were no injuries.

            The suspect was described as black, in his 20s. He was between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall and 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing, a ball cap and a cloth covering his face.
