District Station Kicks Off Safe Summer in Sully
Beginning May 16 and running through June 22, officers from the Sully District Police Station will conduct an intensive drunk driving enforcement campaign. Greater saturation will take place during graduation and Memorial Day weekends. The goal is to ensure safe and sober celebrations.
Officers assigned to this detail will be conducting directed patrols throughout the Sully District to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers.
Motorists stopped for suspicion of driving while intoxicated will undergo a field interview to assure that their abilities to drive have not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Specific dates in May and June have been targeted although the enforcement will be ongoing during this entire period.
The Fairfax County Police Department takes the issue of drinking and driving very seriously. This effort combined with ongoing DWI enforcement initiatives throughout the county are designed to prevent alcohol related crashes and make the roadways safer.
