Police Investigate Two Robberies Minutes Apart

            Fairfax County Police are investigating two armed robberies in the Reston area which occurred within minutes of each other on Friday, May 23 around 12:30 a.m. The first occurred in the 2500 block of John Eppes Road and the second occurred in the 2500 block of William Short Circle.

            A 25-year-old Herndon-area man parked his car and began walking to his apartment on John Eppes Road. A man walked toward him, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The victim relinquished an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled.

            Moments later, a 27-year-old Herndon-area woman was sitting inside her car with a 25-year-old man, also from the Herndon area. They were parked on William Short Circle when a man approached and tapped on the window. The occupants did not acknowledge the man so he opened the door and pointed a gun at them. The suspect ordered them to hand over their money. The victims did not comply and the suspect fled. There were no injuries in either of the robberies.

            The suspect was described similarly in both incidents. He was white or Hispanic, about 25 years old. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 130 to 150 pounds. He wore a red, hooded sweat shirt, dark baseball cap and a black mask in the second robbery.
