Crime Solvers Seeks Suspect in Credit Card Thefts
Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man believed to be responsible for the theft of several credit cards. In each of the five reported cases, the man has entered a professional office building during regular business hours. He walks into a business suite and steals credit cards from purses that are left out in the open. The stolen cards are then used soon after to purchase gift cards at local drug stores and department stores. The suspect has made purchases that total almost $10,000.
The first two incidents were reported in January, the third in March and the two most recent occurred in May. The victims all worked in professional office buildings located in the Tysons Corner area.
Video surveillance captured the suspect and detectives are hopeful someone will recognize him in the photos. He is black and appears to be in his 50s. He is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs around 280 pounds. The suspect has a thick, prominent, white beard or goatee that is neatly trimmed. He wears glasses and a hat and is always dressed professionally.
Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of this suspect is asked to contact Fairfax County Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES/274637.
