Teen Charged in Reston-Area Burglaries
Police have charged a teenage boy with two recent burglaries. On Friday, June 27, officers from the Reston Station’s Selective Enforcement Team were proactively patrolling the area of two recent burglaries. Around 9:40 p.m. they observed a male peeping into the windows of a ground floor apartment in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation determined the 17-year-old Reston boy was allegedly responsible for the two recent burglaries. Those burglaries occurred on May 31 in the 2000 block of Royal Fern Court and on June 21 in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. He was transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center and held on two counts of burglary. Further charges are pending.
