Suspect Sought in Attempted Abduction
Police are seeking a suspect in connection with an apparent abduction attempt that took place Saturday, June 28 around 10 p.m. The attempt allegedly took place in front of NoVa Uniforms, at 3533 South Jefferson Street in the Baileys Crossroads area. A 21-year-old woman was walking home from a grocery store when she observed a man following her in his vehicle. The man got out of his vehicle, grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. The victim yelled, a passerby intervened by yelling and the suspect drove away.
The suspect may have been driving a newer model, gray Ford Explorer. He was described as black and in his 30’s. He was approximately 190 pounds, around 6 feet 1 inch tall with curly, shoulder length hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a red and white horizontal stripe on it.
