Burglary and Sexual Assault in the Mclean Area

Police are investigating a burglary and sexual assault that occurred on Monday, January 5. Police were called to an apartment in the 7300 block of Dartford Drive around 3:15 p.m. for a reported burglary of an occupied dwelling. Officers determined a 24-year-old Mclean-area woman was asleep in the apartment and was awakened by a man pulling on her. She struggled with the suspect as he pulled her to the ground and attempted to remove her clothing. The victim screamed and the suspect fled out the front door of the apartment. The victim had no apparent injuries.

An investigation determined the suspect entered the apartment by breaking out a window. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s. He was about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build. He had curly, shoulder-length, black hair and a light moustache. He was wearing a black and white athletic jacket with stripes, blue jeans and white shoes.
