Attempted Robbery in the Hybla Valley Area

            A 62-year-old Alexandria-area woman was the victim of an attempted robbery on Sunday, January 11. Around 8:25 p.m. the woman parked her car in the 3400 block of Audubon Avenue. A man approached her window and the woman rolled the window down. The suspect demanded money. When the victim did not comply, he brandished a handgun and demanded her purse. The woman rolled up her window; the suspect fled on foot when he could not open the car door.

            The suspect ran toward Finch Street and met up with two other males. All three ran away. The main suspect was described as black, in his late teens. He was about 6 feet tall and was wearing a black, hoodie sweatshirt and dark-colored pants. The other two suspects were described as black, in their late teens.
