 UPDATE

 Fatal Assault Being Investigated as Homicide

            Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying witnesses to the homicide that occurred on Monday, January 19. An investigation has determined that shortly before checking into the hospital, Kyle Pforr was sitting inside a parked car in the 4500 block of Kerrybrooke Drive when another man walked by. Pforr exited the vehicle and approached that man. A brief struggle took place and Pforr was subsequently stabbed. The suspect in the stabbing was described as white, in his late teens to early 20s. He was between 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds. He wore a navy blue hoodie and blue jeans.

            This is the first homicide this year.

Police Investigate Fatal Assault in Franconia

            Police responded to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital around 11:37 p.m. on Monday, January 19 for a man with injuries to the upper body. It is believed he was assaulted in the 4500 block of Kerrybrooke Drive. The victim, 19-year-old Kyle Pforr, of 7721 Hayfield Road in Alexandria, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Homicide and Crime Scene detectives responded and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Pforr’s death. No suspect or motive has yet been determined, but investigators are following up on leads.
