Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian in Burke

A 16-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a car, has died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. Shortly before 7.a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, a 1998 Ford Mustang, driven by a 51-year-old Fairfax County woman, was traveling east in the left lane of Burke Centre Parkway near Marshall Pond Road. The teenager was attempting to cross Burke Centre Parkway from the south side, at Marshall Pond Road, and ran in front of the Mustang.

Shahm Khaznadar, 16, of 10017 Beacon Pond Lane in Burke, was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m. on Monday, January 26, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

There are no charges pending in this case.

This is the third fatal crash in Fairfax County in 2009.
