Two Charged in Apparent Prostitution Deal
A man and woman were arrested on prostitution charges on Sunday, February 15. Around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a hotel in the 3100 block of Fairview Park Drive for a man and woman fighting. Officers determined the man answered an ad on Craig’s List and made arrangements to meet a woman at the hotel that day. Inside the hotel room an argument erupted over missing money and it led to a physical altercation. The woman allegedly assaulted the man with her high-heeled shoe prior to the officers’ arrival.
Briseida J. Barr, 24, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with prostitution and simple assault. Berkan M. Kansu, 21, of 1910 Armand Court in Falls Church, was charged with solicitation of prostitution and possession of marijuana. Kansu was released on summonses and transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
