Cyberpredator Arrested

On Thursday, February 19 detectives arrested Joshua Howard Michaels, 30, of 7432 Monona Terrace in Rockville, Maryland and charged him with indecent liberties with a child and use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

The charges were the result of an investigation that began in December 2008 when the mother of a 14-year-old Fairfax girl found disturbing documents on the home computer and notified the police. It is alleged that between September and December 2008 the 14-year-old victim was communicating electronically with Michaels. They exchanged e-mails, photographs and talked via web-cam. In those communications, Michaels is charged with providing and requesting sexually explicit photos.

The victim was not harmed. Michaels was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
