Narcotics and Weapon Seized in Arrest
Two adults were charged on Monday, March 2, after narcotics and a stolen handgun were discovered. Around 11:53 p.m. a patrol officer observed a man and woman acting suspiciously inside a car in the parking lot of a hotel in the 6600 block of Arlington Boulevard. In speaking with the two, the officer discovered suspected narcotics and learned they were staying at that hotel. A consent search of their hotel room yielded more narcotics and a stolen handgun.
The driver of the vehicle, Alton Carthens, 24, of Washington D.C. was charged with possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I narcotic, possession with the intent to distribute ecstasy, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen firearm. The passenger, Natosha Blackwell, 24, of Riverside, California, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute ecstasy. Both were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
