Pedestrian Injured in Hit and Run Crash
On Sunday, March 8, at about 8:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a person lying in the roadway at Silver Lake Boulevard and Interparcel Road. An investigation revealed that the victim, an 80-year-old Alexandria-area woman had been walking west on Interparcel Road crossing Silver Lake Boulevard in the crosswalk when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the scene, leaving her in the roadway. The victim was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have been in the area around the time of the crash is asked to contact police.
