Credit Card Thief Arrested
David Casell Robinson, 41, of 17416 Denali Place in Dumfries was arrested on Thursday, March 5. He was charged with eight counts of credit card theft and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
The arrest took place as a result of a coordinated effort to watch areas where several thefts from vehicles took place. Members of the Sully District Selective Enforcement Team, Fair Oaks District Neighborhood Patrol Unit and the Criminal Investigations Sections of both districts compared their notes and determined high target areas along with a suspect description. Officers allege that Robinson entered an unsecured car at 3751 Centreview Drive and stole the purse that was inside. The 35-year-old victim, a South Riding woman, was not near the car. Robinson then allegedly used the credit cards and made purchases at a nearby Shoppers Food Warehouse. He was arrested without incident.
The case is still under investigation.
