Student Sexually Assaulted at School
Police were called to Edison High School, 5801 Franconia Road, on Thursday, April 2 for a report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred around 11:45 a.m. An investigation determined that a 17-year-old girl was returning to a classroom trailer when she met a 17-year-old student acquaintance. They walked to a secluded area where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The victim reported the assault to a parent, after returning home. She did not require medical attention.
Police obtained a detention order charging the teenage boy. He was taken into custody on April 9 at about 1:30 p.m. and transported to the juvenile detention center.
