Unknown Pedestrian Dies
On Saturday, April 11 just before 4 a.m. a man crossing Richmond Highway near North Kings Highway in the Huntington area dies. Officers and detectives responded for a man stuck by a car. An investigation revealed that several drivers swerved to avoid striking the victim. A 2007 Pontiac Gran Prix, driven by a 31-year-old Alexandria-area man, was not able to avoid striking the victim. The victim was transported Inova Fairfax Hospital and pronounced dead at 7:31 a.m. Speed and alcohol were not factors for the driver. It is unknown if alcohol was factor for the victim. This is the tenth fatal crash and fifth pedestrian killed this year in Fairfax County.
The victim was a white man believed to be in his mid-40s. He was heavy set and bald, possibly wearing glasses. He was wearing a blue bandana, black jeans, black shoes and a baseball cap. Detectives need your assistance in identifying the victim.
