Suspect Shot by Officer

            On Monday, April 13 at 12:41 a.m., officers were called to the 9000 block of Piney Grove Drive in Fairfax for a possible domestic violence call. Upon arrival, officers saw a man pulling a woman toward a car at knife-point. He threatened her life and one officer shot the man. The man was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and died as a result of a single gun shot to the upper body. His identity is being withheld pending verification and next of kin notification.

            The initial victim, a 21-year-old Fairfax woman, was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A second victim was found inside the home. The second victim, a 26-year-old Fairfax man, was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

            The officer who shot the suspect is 28 years old and a six year veteran of the Police Department. He has been placed on routine administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
