Employee Robbed at Shopping Mall
An employee of the JC Penney store at Fair Oaks Mall, 11801 Fair Oaks Mall, was robbed on Tuesday, April 14 at 9:10 p.m. Police responded and an investigation determined that a 42-year-old Herndon-area woman was working behind the counter at the time of the robbery. She was approached by a woman who stood behind her, placed an object against her back, and demanded the register be opened. The victim opened the register and the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot. The victim did not require any medical treatment.
The suspect was described as black, approximately 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a heavy build. She wore a pink cap, red hooded sweat shirt, gray sweat pants, and white shoes. Police are continuing to investigate.
