Operation "Insurance Assurance" Campaign
in the Mount Vernon District

In an effort to reduce drivers operating their vehicles without liability insurance, the Mount Vernon District Station has initiated operation “Insurance Assurance.” Officers will be issuing drivers the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Confirmation of Liability Insurance Form (FR-422A). This requires that the driver or owner of the vehicle provide confirmation of liability insurance to the DMV within 30 days. If this information is not provided, the owner’s privilege to drive and their vehicle registration will be suspended.

This effort is seeking to ensure drivers are in compliance with the law and to reduce hit and run crashes. The operation will begin on April 15 and conclude on May 15. Statistics will be made available to the public at the conclusion of the initiative.
