Two Arrested for Store Robbery

Two men were arrested on Thursday, April 16 for robbing the employee of a store in the Rose Hill area. Police were called to the Dollar Tree store, located at 6140 Rose Hill Road, around 6:04 p.m. Thursday. An investigation determined that around 6 p.m. a man approached the counter to purchase a pack of gum. The employee, a 22-year-old Alexandria-area woman, rang up the sale. When the register opened, the suspect reached in, took an undisclosed amount of cash then ran out the front door. He jumped into a waiting car that fled.

A witness provided police with the license plate and officers located the vehicle a short time later. Lawrence Gray, 42, of no fixed address and Earl Hendrick, 47, of Portsmouth, Virginia, were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with robbery. The victim did not require medical attention.
