Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries

             Fair Oaks Police District - A man who was struck by a car around 11:25 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 has succumbed to his injuries. The victim attempted to cross Lee Jackson Memorial Highway near the intersection of Chantilly Road outside of the crosswalk and against the light. A 2003 Honda Odyssey traveling westbound on Lee Jackson Memorial Highway struck him as he crossed the lanes. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Sunday, May 3, Pedro Ceto-Chavez, 25, of 4033 Summer Hollow Court in Chantilly, died around 2:43 a.m. at the hospital.

       No charges will be placed on the driver of the Honda, a 22-year-old Columbia, Maryland woman. This is the 11th fatal crash this year in Fairfax County. Last year at this time, there were 6 fatal crashes.
