Man Arrested for Abduction and Sexual Battery

Fair Oaks Police District – A man was arrested for abducting a 23-year-old woman he met online. The 26-year-old man visited the victim in the 12100 block of Elm Forest Way the evening of Saturday, May 23. Around 10 p.m., he allegedly carried her into a bedroom and ordered her to disrobe. He’s charged with grabbing two knives, blocking the door with a piece of furniture and smashing several things inside the apartment. He then allegedly told her to put her clothes back on, grabbed her arm and forced her outside into a car.

Still holding the knives, the suspect reportedly ordered her to drive away. As they were driving, they passed a George Mason University patrol officer. The victim managed to get the officer’s attention and he began to follow them. At a stop sign near Stoughten Road and Stonewall Avenue, the victim jumped out of the car and ran to the officer. An investigation led to the suspect’s arrest. Dennis Gregory Rother, of 383 Holly Corner Road in Fredericksburg, VA, was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with drunk in public, aggravated sexual battery, abduction, felony destruction of property and assault.
