Police Investigate Altercation at Falls Church-Area Restaurant
Mason Police District – Two juveniles were arrested after an altercation at a restaurant on Sunday, May 24. Around 11:07 p.m., an officer patrolling a shopping center in the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard observed a large group of people running out of the Tierra Mare Restaurant. Two men ran to a car and were surrounded by the group as they tried to leave. The group damaged the vehicle but dispersed throughout the parking lot as additional officers arrived.
A 17-year-old Manassas-area boy and a 17-year-old Falls Church-area boy were apprehended by police during the incident. Both suspects were transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. The Manassas-area teen was charged with felony destruction of property, two counts of attempted assault by mob, gang participation, and disorderly conduct. The Falls Church-area teen was charged with felony destruction of property, two counts of attempted malicious wounding by mob, missile into an occupied vehicle, gang participation and disorderly conduct. Investigators determined the incident was gang-related. Gang prevention, intervention and suppression continue to be a coordinated priority in Fairfax County.
