 Police Search for Suspect Involved in Carjacking

            Franconia Police District – A man was carjacked on Saturday, June 13 near the intersection of Franconia Road and Frontier Drive in Springfield. The adult victim was stopped at a traffic light around 4:45 p.m. when another man jumped into his car, a small sedan, implied a weapon and ordered the victim to drive. As they entered I-95, the driver crashed the vehicle into a jersey wall. The suspect exited the car and fled on foot. Numerous police officers responded and conducted an extensive search for the suspect that lasted several hours. The suspect has not been located at this time. He was described as black, in his 20s and was wearing a blue T-shirt and gray sweat pants. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
