UPDATE
Alleged Victim Charged

Jennifer Lynn Sprague, 32, of 910 Plum Street, S.W., Vienna, Virginia has been charged with filing a false police report. Detectives determined that the events Sprague reported to police on May 17, never occurred. Sprague was released on a summons on Wednesday, June 24.

Assault at Burke Lake Park

West Springfield Police District – A 32-year-old womanwas assaulted on a wooded path between two parking lots at Burke Lake Park. The victim parked her car and was walking alone on Sunday, May 17 at around 4 p.m. A man walked toward her and punched her in the face. The victim was rendered unconscious for a short time. The suspect was gone when she awoke. She was not seriously injured.

The suspect was described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with vivid, blue eyes. He was wearing black shoes, black, pleated pants and a black shirt.
