Learning to Honor the Fallen

            The Fairfax County Police Department Honor Guard is hosting an internationally recognized training seminar for Honor Guard team members from around the nation and beyond. The three-day tutorial will start with two days of classroom lecture, and hands-on training sessions. These classes include flag folding, presentation of colors, a 21-gun salute, casket carrying and more.

            On the third day, media is invited to watch it all come together as participants don their dress uniforms and execute a mock Line-of-Duty funeral procession at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home in Fairfax. We are providing the media an opportunity to learn more about the honors given to fallen officers and observe the teams that present them:

             WHAT: 4TH Annual Fairfax County Police Honor Guard Training Seminar,
            full-dress mock line of duty funeral procession. 

             WHO: Honor Guard members from Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Massachusetts, Canada and             Guam. 

             WHEN: Wednesday, July 1 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

             WHERE: Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax
