Sobriety Checkpoint Results
In West Springfield Police District

Fairfax County police officers from around the county conducted a sobriety checkpoint to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers on Friday, June 26 from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. Saturday. All motorists were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Approximately 420 motorists passed through the checkpoint in the east and westbound lanes of Burke Centre Parkway at the Terra Centre Elementary School. Two arrests were made for DWI. Three summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

Eight Fairfax County officers and four auxiliary police officers participated in the checkpoint.
