Crime Solvers Seeks Female Bank Robbery Suspect
Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the woman responsible for two recent bank robberies. The first bank robbery occurred on Thursday, June 25 at the Wachovia Bank, located at 8994 Lorton Station Boulevard. Around 2:10 p.m. the woman entered the bank and approached a teller at the counter. She passed a note, implied a weapon and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled through the front door.
The second robbery occurred on Wednesday, July 15 at the SunTrust Bank, located at 9400 Richmond Highway. Around 2:25 p.m. the woman entered the bank and approached a teller at the counter. She passed a note, implied a weapon and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled through the front door.
In both robberies, the suspect fled in a gold or champagne-colored sedan. Detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for both bank robberies. She was described as black, 35 to 40 years old. She was about 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 160 to 180 pounds. Detectives are releasing photos of the suspect in the hope someone will recognize her.
